Day 1 Summer Ball
Today I traveled to Houghton, New York for my first real College Baseball Summer League.
This summer I will be a proud member of the Genesee Rapids in the NCYBL.
The drive over was very smooth and the scenery was phenomenal. The western side of New York is nothing as to what you stereo type New York as. Flat, with malls and buildings, shopping everywhere! Well, I was in for a culture shock. For starters, I AM NO WHERE NEAR A WAL-MART!!!! Ya thats right, oh and there is one gas station with over priced gas along with a dollar general where everything is "Generally" a dollar (NOT). However, Houghton is a beautiful town with a fantastic fanbase the I am excited to be a part of for the next two months.
Getting the opportunity to compete against some of college baseballs finest is a privilege and I am excited to be a part of this organization, along with playing on this team, I will be increasing my fellowship as well. As a faith based organization, the Genesee Rapids make it a point that through all of the accolades and victories, their is something more than the game. While baseball is a game of failure, god will always be with you, through the good and the bad. This summer I am looking to grow as an individual and a follower in christ and I would like you to follow along with me.
I will try to update this as often as I can, but I ask you to join me in this journey this summer.
Thank you and may god bless you,
Collin Scott
