Weeks 3,4,5

Whats up everybody. It has been a while to say the least but, in my defense I have been pretty busy.

These past few weeks have been nothing less then exciting. I have walked on trails, spoke in a church and even played some good baseball. As of yesterday I am hitting 10/28 with 5 RBI's.  Most importantly I am having quality at bats. Along with the baseball side, my faith and my commitment to christ continues to get restored as I see god working on me day after day.

My sister came up to visit recently and we drove all the way to Binghamton just to see Tim Tebow sit the bench..... That was a disappointment. Fathers day was cool, other than going 0-4, my dad getting to watch me play is what it is all about.

Overall I am having a great time, and I enjoy the people am around everyday. I am hoping to continue to evolve and bring home a healthier mind and body.

Week 2 was interesting to say the least. For starters I finally got my first hit, we almost came back down 6 runs in the 9th and all I do is walk. The teams and competition I am playing against is continuing to rise, the players are very elite. Our team is very talented and we sit at a record of 4-4 after starting the season 0-3.

My faith grows everyday as we progress in this journey. I see more and more baseball players just like me. After every game we circle around the mound and pray. I have yet to volunteer but listening to some of the young men that speak about their faith is very eye opening.

The word of the week for me is consistent. As I go through life and in baseball I am learning to develop a consistent routine. Many of you that know me, I am not a very consistent person. I want things and pursue them for a short amount of time. Almost like a kick, or a rush you would be on. You go to the gym for a few days and then suddenly lose motivation. I fall under that spell a lot whether it is working out, school work, what ever. Being here with almost nothing to do has given me a chance to slow down and start from the ground up. Build a better foundation for myself.

Summer Ball Week 1

The past few days have been very taxing. Between learning my way around Houghton and playing baseball I have had little time to talk about what has been going on.

The baseball aspect has been very fun and eye opening. The players I am playing against are at an entire different level then I am used to. My first at bat did not go as planned as I pinch hit in the 9th and flew out to third.  My first start came in Niagara, New York against the Niagara Power. Getting the opportunity to play in an stadium in an opening day experience was amazing. A helicopter even landed on the field! I ended up going 0-3 with a hit by pitch but had 2 out of 3 quality at bats which is all you can ask for.

Outside of baseball, I have been having a blast. From workouts to dinners with the team, it is really a fun experience. So far I have won in mini-golf, tried to catch a t-shirt from a cannon and gained a lot of really good friends.

We finished this week with a record of 0-2 but played very well for this being the first few games together and I expect us to start winning very shortly.
